Farmland Preservation

Preserving our home and our heritage.

The Strasburg Rail Road is committed to helping to preserve the farmland along the railroad line through support of the Lancaster Farmland Trust. The train travels past more than 20 farms and more than one thousand acres of land – providing one of the best views Pennsylvania Dutch Country has to offer.

As a private, non-profit organization, the Farmland Trust works with landowners who want to permanently protect their farmland. By purchasing the development rights, Lancaster Farmland Trust helps enforce development restrictions in order to preserve the farms and way of life for future generations.

As we strive to promote good stewardship of the land and to protect the cultural heritage that has made Lancaster County what it is today – we invite you to join us as we support the Lancaster Farmland Trust in this most important effort.
