BIRTHDAY PARTIES FOR ALL AGES

Looking for a unique place to have a birthday party in Lancaster County, PA? We also have birthday options ideal for children under the age of 12 with add-on options for your specific needs.

Your group will have the option to reserve an entire train car to celebrate with the guest of honor as you travel 45 minutes to Paradise and back. Our team is happy to work with you to create a themed catered meal for the event, which can either be enjoyed on board or in a picnic grove.

Note: Pricing is subject to change. Birthday Parties are unavailable during special event trains including but not limited to Christmas Trains, Day Out With Thomas dates, and Easter Bunny Trains.

Trying to find some fun and educational field trip ideas for schools or church outings? We’ve got just the ticket!

Strasburg Rail Road provides a unique opportunity for schools, day camps, and religious groups to learn about local history and culture while enjoying a narrated steam train experience aboard our authentically restored passenger cars.

Our team can also work with you to create an age-appropriate boxed lunch menu for your group to enjoy in Café 1832 or at one of our convenient picnic groves. You can also rent out Lefever Hall, which accommodates up to 40 people.

FAMILY GROUPS and REUNIONS

Make new memories together! Plan your next family vacation, military reunion, or retirement community outings at a unique venue—the Strasburg Rail Road! Have fun reconnecting with fellow travelers as you enjoy the 45-minute round-trip train ride from Strasburg to Paradise, PA. If visiting between April and October, bring your lunch with you, and enjoy your boxed lunch at the picnic grove along the way to enjoy your lunch before journeying back to the station. The Strasburg Rail Road also offers private excursions for large groups, but they must follow our established departure schedule.

Parties of fifteen (15) or more paying guests are eligible to receive a 20% discount on Regular Train retail tickets.

2024 Group Policies

Please be aware and familiar with the following information:

• The standard train ride is 45 minutes, round trip. Trains depart promptly on time.
• Group reservations must be made at least seven (7) days in advance.
• Parties of fifteen (15) or more are eligible for group discounted tickets (when applicable).
• Strasburg Rail Road can accommodate groups of up to 400 guests at one time.
• Group rate discount does not apply to Special Events trains (e.g. Christmas, Easter, Great Train Robbery, or Sleepy Hollow), Caboose Charters, or First Class accommodations.
• A $100 (or $150 for Dining Car reservations) deposit is due at the time of booking. Deposits are non-refundable but are transferable to a later or different booking.
• Strasburg Rail Road accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and business/corporate checks.
• Reservations must be paid in full no later than seven (7) days before the arrival date.
• Strasburg Rail Road is happy to accommodate guests with mobility issues. However, due to the historic nature of our equipment, some restrictions may apply.

• Please be aware of our 2024 Day Out With Thomas event dates during which bus parking and group drop-off locations may be slightly altered than the normal routine:
