Can the Strasburg Rail Road accommodate my wheelchair?
Due to the historic nature of our railcars, Strasburg Rail Road’s passenger train does not meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards regarding accessibility. However, for individuals who use a wheelchair, mobility device, or have difficulty navigating steps, we do have a mobile lift, which can accommodate most standard-sized wheelchairs of average weight up to 400 lbs. combined weight.
Though we cannot guarantee accessibility, we have a variety of accommodation options available including First Class, Open Air, and Coach, and we will make every reasonable effort to provide every guest who wishes to ride the opportunity to do so.
Guests in wheelchairs who can ambulate into a stationary chair/bench on the train are encouraged to do so. Not all cars have a dedicated space for a wheelchair.
