The Night Before Christmas Train
Sparkling skies, warmth from a potbelly stove, the aroma of freshly baked cookies, and magic in the air. Returning again this year, the popular Night Before Christmas Train runs on select Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings during the holiday season. A portion of proceeds collected from the sale of Night Before Christmas Train tickets is donated annually to the Clinic for Special Children.
This very unique and special train recreates the excitement and anticipation of Christmas Eve. A reader dressed in a Victorian nightshirt and cap will read Clement Clarke Moore’s classic poem, The Night Before Christmas, as the train rolls along. After the reading of the poem, passengers can enjoy a treat of milk and cookies.
Following the train ride, children are also treated to storybook readings of holiday classics in our North Pole alcove near the Railroad Store, and visitors of all ages can enjoy a ride aboard the Tinsel Trolley, a self-propelled motor car.
In the spirit of the season, children and their families are encouraged to come dressed in pajamas, and just by attending this event, your participation helps a very worthy cause. A portion of proceeds collected from the sale of The Night Before Christmas Train tickets will be donated to support the work of the Clinic for Special Children.
Want to combine a meal with The Night Before Christmas Train? Consider our Christmas Feast! Passengers board Strasburg Rail Road’s Dining Car half-an-hour before the scheduled departure to began their meal and enjoy a special experience with family and friends.
