PICNIC GROVES
Ride the train to our convenient picnic groves – recreational areas along the train’s route for mid-way boarding or unloading. Board the train with your picnic basket or cooler, and let your trainman know you wish to get off at one of our groves!
GROFF’S GROVE (Open March 31 to September 30, 2023; some blackout dates or restrictions may occur.)
Swings, a merry-go-round, and seesaws will entertain the kids while you sit back and enjoy the bucolic view of Lancaster County’s Amish Country. Amenities at Groff’s Grove include picnic tables, charcoal grills, hand-pumped potable water, and porta-potties.
If you wish to disembark at Groff’s Grove, please inform your train’s Car Host or Conductor as he or she greets you and verifies your ticket. [Trip logistics: The train will proceed to the end of the line; then, on the return trip, the train will stop at Groff’s Grove.] Please be aware of the day’s departure schedule. In most cases, it will be 90 minutes until the next train is back at Groff’s Grove to pick up guests. Trains do not disembark guests on the final ride of the day.
LEAMAN PLACE GROVE (Open April 1 to October 31, 2023; some blackout or restrictions may occur.)
Passengers may disembark at Leman Place to enjoy a picnic lunch among the shade trees. Situated adjacent to the active Amtrak line, a speeding train may pass by like a bullet. Amenities at Leaman Place Grove include a few picnic tables, a charcoal grill, and a porta-potty.
If you wish to disembark at Leaman Place Grove, please inform your train’s Car Host or Conductor as he or she greets you and verifies your ticket. When the train arrives at its stopping point in Paradise, carefully disembark the train at the spot designated by your train crew. Follow the red gravel path back to the picnic grove. Be sure to use the utmost caution and ONLY cross the tracks at the designated pedestrian crossing.

PLAYGROUND
Kids can laugh, run and climb with hands-on fun in the train-themed play area while parents sit nearby with complimentary Wi-Fi access. Beautifully restored engines and rails cars will pull in and out of the station traveling to and returning from scenic Paradise, PA.
