Hostling Tour

Starting a car is pretty simple; just turn the key.  But what's involved in starting a steam locomotive?  Well, we're glad you asked! Introducing Strasburg Rail Road's exclusive Hostling Tour!

Due to the length, location and subject of the tour, children under the age of 10 are not permitted on this tour. Ages 10 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult. A maximum of 10 participants per tour.  Available most Friday mornings from mid-May through early-October, beginning three hours prior to the first scheduled train of the day.  Please note the Hostling Tour will be unavailable during Day Out With Thomas events.  Hostling Tour passes are non-refundable.  Tours will operate rain or shine.

Day Pass

The Strasburg Rail Road Day Pass is the most economical way to spend your whole day aboard the train.
  • Unlimited rides aboard scheduled regular train Coach Cars for the date purchased.
  • Upgrades to higher-fare cars may be purchased at the Station.
  • Day Passes are not valid during special events or for special event trains.

Annual Pass

Coach Car
Enjoy a one-year pass featuring unlimited rides in our Coach cars. A great value if you plan to ride the train multiple times throughout the year! An Annual Pass entitles you to:
  • Unlimited rides aboard the Coach Class accommodations on scheduled Regular Trains.
  • Exclusive opportunity to upgrade to higher-fare cars (Open Air, Dining, First Class, or President’s Car) at a greatly reduced rate.
  • Unlimited rides aboard the Cranky Cars and the Pint-sized Pufferbelly (when operating).
  • Unlimited rides on special offerings such as: The Pump Car, the Track Car, and/or the LO&S Motor Car No. 10 (activities may vary daily).
  • Exclusive discounts on special event trains, including but not limited to Easter Bunny Trains, Great Train Robbery Trains, and Christmas Trains.

One or more of the Fun Extras rides operate on most weekends, during Special Events, and daily during our Summer season.

When not included as part of a special event (e.g. Day Out With Thomas, Easter Bunny Train, Santa’s Paradise Express), a Fun Extras Wristband may be purchased onsite at the railroad Station or within any of the gift shops along the mall.

Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania Add-on

Purchase discounted admission to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania as an add-on to your Strasburg Rail Road train ticket! These two world-class attractions are conveniently located across the street from one another.

Please Note: Schedules are adhered to as closely as possible, but the railroad reserves the right to alter schedules, substitute coaches and/or motive power as operating conditions demand. There are a limited number of Dinner Train Tickets available. Unsold tickets will be available at the station on a first come basis. We strongly recommend pre-purchasing your ticket.
